PRAYERFUL MEDITATIONS
by Deacon Dan Reynolds
Below are some thoughts I received while in prayer:
Our prayer should not only be a dialogue with God. It should be a DEI-alogue. 2012
In every “crisis”, remember, “Christ is”. September 8, 2012
Mary held Heaven and earth within her womb,
and brought both of them back when she was Assumed. October 6, 2012
Find comfort in knowing that never does the bolt of lightening strike when, at the same time, the water needed to extinguish the burning fire falls from Heaven.
LOGICAL PROBE FOR THE NEED OF GOD IN DATING
Question: What is a one word definition of God
Answer: Love.
Question: When couples date, they are practicing what it means to fall in what?
Answer: Love.
Conclusion: So, if God is Love and dating is practicing to fall in God (Love)....if
God isn’t part of our dating, then we are only practicing to fall.

You can’t spell “Goodness” without “G-o-d”. November 16, 2012
We know God is not male or female, and yet Jesus refers to God as “Abba” or Father. Since we are all made in God’s image, there must be a similar quality between male and female that mysteriously reflects who God is. Let’s call that similar quality “X”. Since Jesus refers to God as “Father”, as opposed to “Mother”, there must also be a different quality that males and females do not share, but yet is still shared by God. Let’s call that different quality “Y”. Genetically, as per God’s design, females are identified as “XX”, males as “XY”. The only gender that encompasses both qualities, the similar and the different, is the male. The male gender possesses both male AND female qualities. If we are made in God’s image, both male and female, would it not make sense that Jesus would refer to his “Father” in heaven, and that Jesus himself would be male...because in the male, both images of male AND female are represented. God gives us the gift of free will. When we choose to align our gift with His will, we become a gift back to God. March 3, 2013
God’s greatest gift to us is the gift of Himself. Our greatest gift to God is faith...(and even this is a gift FROM God.) March 3, 2013
As the Word became flesh, our word must become action, our faith must become works, our lives must become Incarnate.
March, 20, 2013
The gift of ourselves, our time and talent, isn’t even ours in the first place. Our Christian role, as sons and daughters of God, is to be RE-GIFTERS of God’s gifts to us. March 21, 2013
God is relationship
God is One, in three persons, the Trinity. The Father and Son love each other, and the result of that Love is the Holy Spirit. God is relationship.
Conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary, God become incarnate. God is relationship.
Through Jesus’ death on the cross, offering Himself as the Sacrificial Lamb, for love of us, in expiation for our sins, God renews humanity in relationship to Himself. God is relationship.
On Pentecost, God sent down His Spirit upon the apostles to live and dwell within and among them so as to bring His Love to all nations. God is relationship.
Through the sacrifice of the Liturgy on earth, in unison with the eternal sacrifice of love in Heaven by Jesus Christ, the High Priest, God is relationship.
In and through all of the Seven Sacraments, God reveals Himself to us, and raises us to Himself. God is relationship.
God is love. God is relationship.

Easter is a movable Feast, not only because it is the first Sunday after the first full moon, after the vernal equinox, but because it is to move along with us every day of our lives. Easter March 31, 2013
Just as Jesus appeared to the apostles in another form, so, too, do we need to take another form, the form of Christ, when we “go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.” April 6, 2013
Waters of Baptism

Psalm 23 (Street Edition)
The Big Dude upstairs is my homie, I shall not dis. My Big Bro keeps it on the low side, and keeps me chillin'. Dude picks me up when I'm down. Dude keeps me out of hoo-ha with His fab I.D. Even though I stroll on the cheesy turf, I ain't scared of nuttin' 'cause my main Man has got my back. Dude lays out a totally rad and rockin' spread front and center of my foes. Dude anoints my dome with dynamite oil; my mind explodes. Awesomeness and excellence will tail me 'til I kick the bucket, and I will chill in the pad of the Big Dude forever.

(this is a ludicrous example of what happens when we try to change the Word of God)
As Catholics, we should be making informed decisions, not just forming our OWN decisions. Christ defeated sin and death. The devil must not have gotten the memo. April 28, 2013

Sometimes prayer feels like I’m talking to God on the phone. This isn’t bad, but the best prayer is face to face. Aug 24, 2013
If a woman feels she cannot keep married to a man, should she divorce him or kill him?
If a woman does not want a baby boy, should she give it up for adoption or kill him?

Like the sheep who learns to recognize the voice of the shepherd, we learn to recognize the voice of God by listening to Him in prayer. Oct 26, 2013
Inspiration
Inspiration for those who choose to hear it,
is all about opening oneself to the Spirit.
To do so requires one to be still,
in order to discern God's Heavenly Will.
When we choose to follow, and not demand to lead,
God will provide us not what we WANT, but what we NEED.
We will find we are no longer set apart,
because we shall begin to see with the heart.
There is not one "i" in "Inspiration", but three,
to remind us of the Holy Trinity,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Inspiration for those who choose to hear it.
